IEEE Bangalore Section is based in Region 10 and is part of the IEEE India Council. A vibrant and dynamic section, it has more than 3,500 members across 12 Society Chapters and Affinity Groups. IEEE Bangalore Section was started in 1976, and through various activities over the years has created a technical platform for members across Karnataka State in India. The first Indian section to have signed a Memorandum of Understanding during the IEEE Sections Congress, the IEEE Bangalore Section works actively and closely with sister section IEEE Princeton/Central Jersey Section of Region 1.
IEEE Bangalore Section advances the interests of technology and technologists through networking opportunities, meetings and conferences, lectures, as well as partnering with business and academia.
Located in India’s “Silicon City”, IEEE Bangalore Section provides extraordinary opportunities for members to network through active Society Chapters and various forums. The Section also conducts conferences and seminars for young professionals through the GOLD Affinity group. And through its Women in Engineering affinity group, the Section provides encouragement and opportunity for women involved in technology fields.
Students are a strong part of the section, holding 50% of the memberships. The Section actively and creatively engages student members and their branches, providing technical assistance and support resources.
A thought-provoking discussion of how IEEE can help students, through their Branch Counselors, to become more involved citizens and future professionals.
